The Metro Denver real estate market continues to show strength as 2017 progresses. Local real estate has consistently been in the top 5 markets nationally for price appreciation. February’s 8.5% increase, reported in the Case-Shiller Home Price Index, placed 4th nationally marking the first time Denver has fallen outside of the top 3 in the past 12 months. In related news, New York-based SmartAsset recently ranked Denver as the 9th healthiest housing market in the nation. Factors in the rating include stability, risk, ease of sale, and affordability. The rapid rate at which homes in Denver sell helped propel the city to a high ranking. According to the report, only 3.1% of homes in Denver were decreasing in value, compared to the national average of 12.5%.
